Sustainable Products Save the Environment

Environmental damage is becoming more and more of a concern with each passing year. For centuries we have been doing great damage to the environment through the way we produce products and through the products that we use. Now everyone is starting to see that the damage done is serious and we must begin to change our ways.

Sustainable products are one way to help minimize the damage to the environment. Sustainable products are products that do not do damage to the environment at all. In many cases, sustainable products are actually beneficial to the environment.

Building Better

One of the easiest to use sustainable products is wood. Wood is produced naturally, it comes from trees that are good for the environment and it is used in construction, which is one industry which has done major environmental damage.

Another sustainable product that can be used is clay. Clay has a lot of uses. It can be used in construction as well. It is a great building product because it is easy to use and it provides long lasting benefits to the consumer. A home, for example, that is built using clay will have natural insulation from the properties of the clay. This helps keep the home warm in the cold and cool in the heat.

What’s For Dinner?

Another area where a lot of environmental damage is done is related to food. The containers used that are made of plastic are very harmful to the environment. Better options are paper packaging. Additionally, pesticides used on vegetables and other crops can be very damaging to the environment. Organic foods are much healthier for you and the environment. They are also readily available at supermarkets all over the place.

Energy

Perhaps, the largest cause of environmental damage is energy. Energy has long been derived from fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are not renewable. They are often difficult to get and harvesting these fossil fuels causes great environmental damage. Burning fossil fuels produces a great amount of pollution, as well.

Natural energy options are much better. These sustainable products are clean to use and they are a source of energy that will never be depleted. Renewable products include solar energy, wind energy and thermal energy. There are vehicles on the market that use electricity to operate instead of gasoline. There are energy companies that are using natural energy sources rather than using fossil fuels. There are many changes being made on the front of energy that are moving us towards using more sustainable products.

Using sustainable products is one of the top things that we can do to help save the environment, reduce damage and prevent future damage. In many cases using sustainable products is simple. You simply need to make the choice of a sustainable product over one that is not. In other cases, it can take a major change to switch to sustainable products, but when you consider the benefits then you know that it is well worth your time to make the change.

Mandatory Green Energy Audits in Austin

Starting on June 1, 2009, Austin
homeowners will be required to have an energy audit conducted and completed on
their house before they sell it. Texas Green Energy Audit is offering Green
Energy Audit Certification that provides duct blaster training sessions that
will get you up to speed on blaster testing that will be required during an
Austin Energy Audit.

An emerging trend in human consumption
and daily living has surpassed the preliminary ‘going green’ phase of organic
foods and has reached into all aspects of our lives: more fuel-efficient cars,
reducing consumptions and cleaner energy. In a new move to help improve, not
only our lives, but our homes, mandatory energy audits have been passed into laws
in many states throughout the nation. An energy audit is an inspection, survey
and analysis of energy flows in a building or home with the objective of
understanding the dynamics of the system. Typically, an energy audit is
conducted to seek out opportunities to reduce the amount of energy needed to
help the building or home operate efficiently without negatively jeopardizing
the output of energy. For a home, this may include finding ways to maintaining
or improving human comfort, health and safety. An energy audit also seeks to
prioritize the energy usage according

Starting on June 1, 2009, Austin
homeowners will be required to have an energy audit conducted and completed on
their house before they sell it. This new code was added by the City of Austin,
requiring that all residential properties within the Austin city limits that
are 10 years or older, receive services from Austin Electric Utility and that
are on the market for sale, are required to have an energy audit completed by a
certified auditor prior to the property being sold.

The homeowner who is selling the house
has the choice of selecting an auditor that is a disinterested third party who
may not have financial incentive to over-report repairs, or a home energy
contractor who will accurately apply the cost of the audit to the cost of the
needed repairs. The audit will need to include a visual inspection, as well as
testing of the air conditioning system for leakage, using methods and standards
that are officially approved by the City of Austin Energy Code. The audit must
be conducted by a person certified by either the Building Performance Institute
or other accredited agency approved by Austin Energy as a Building Performance
Analyst or the industry equivalent.

There are exemptions for single-family
homes, but they don’t come without hoops. Owners of homes that have
participated in the Austin Energy Home Performance with Energy Star® offering
or an Austin Energy equivalent fewer than 10 years before the time of the sale
and either performed at least three energy efficiency measures or received a
rebate of $500 or more will get an exemption.

The City of Austin has finalized their
list of equipment and tests that are required for the Energy Audit. Texas Green
Energy Audit is offering Green Energy Audit Certification through the BPI
program. The BPI program focuses on the house-as-a-system concept, including
mechanical equipment and the building envelope. Students who successfully
complete the course, the online final exam, and the field test know how to
identify problems, their root causes, and the appropriate repair. The purpose
of Texas Green Energy Audits is to provide the latest in green education,
training, and testing to qualified individuals who want to obtain the Building
Performance Institute (BPI) certification and become a Building Analyst
Professional able to perform energy audits in Austin.

Eco-Green Hotel-A step towards a greener world

In an
attempt to protect and save the environment and combating environmental hazards,
we are ought to take our every step with extreme cautiousness. We should not
forget that in our daily walk of life, our every action must be environmentally
responsible. Moreover, even while on a holiday or tour, people should stay in
the kind of motels, inns or hotels which use energy in an environmentally
compatible manner. And such hotels are called ‘Green Hotels’. Turning into eco-green
hotels helps keeping staff long-term because management intelligibly cares for
their well-being and health.

The green
hotels are authorized to utilize the non-exhaustible energy resources in all
possible ways. On top of that they efficiently use the exhaustible resources by
reusing or recycling the byproducts.
Now a day, hotels are realizing and
bringing appreciable changes towards getting green and contributing to lesser
pollution and waste.
Being green means guests, staff and
management are healthier.

What are
hotels doing to turn into green?

>Hotels
are using water-saving devices that will conserve estimated thousands more
gallons of water per room every year. Moreover, they are using dispensers for
lotions and shampoos instead of the bottles.

>They
are using compact fluorescent light bulbs to save energy.

>They
are utilizing recycled paper, soy-based inks for stationery.

>They
are also motivating guests to go green by offering discounted parking rewards
for those who drive hybrids.

>They
are doing their best to conserve lighting and air-conditioning energy while
guest rooms aren’t occupied by using a motion -detection system.

>They
are replacing the mineral water bottles with local tap water in pitchers
according to the relevant season.

> They
are running incentive programs to encourage the staff participation in
improving environmental -friendly practices.

> They
are donating the leftover amenities, furniture and appliances to charitable
trust.

> They
are offering discounts to sustainable environmental organizations who would
like to hold meetings at the hotels.

Why to
become Green?

>By
turning into green we will help our property to have value for long term.

>Going

going green you judiciously utilize both the renewable energy and the non
renewable resources.

How can
green-hotels be more successful?

While the
hospitality sector is attempting towards the better environment, their endeavor
would be a great success if the visitors co-operate by minimizing wastes. Obviously,
these hotels are constantly engaged in various hospitality activities through
the utilization of energy resources. If we are willing to stay in a green
hotel, we can contribute a little to protect and save environment at individual
level.

Benefits of
turning into Green:

>Visitors
like eco-green hotels because of its cost efficiency.

>Visitors
like the entertainment and recreation in a natural place as that is more
refreshing to do everything in green lodging

>It is
beneficial in maintaining the ecological balance and greenery on earth.

>Since
so many energy saving effective measures are adopted such as sensors for rest
rooms and meeting areas, fluorescent bulbs and so on, it leads to the reduction
in electricity bills which is very advantageous.

> Reduction
in the water bills by the introduction and application of equipment which saves
water such as low-flow showerheads and so on.

Green Drinks Benefits exposed

As for example if a manufacturer tells you to mix the green powder  that with “your favorite juice”, that though  means they have no particular  clue what they are talking about so.  If you were to mix that greens with the  orange, apple, grape, or any more other sugary fruit juice, your drink would not be the alkaline.

Your green drink so should contain only the alkaline ingredients.  Including sugary fruits right into the green powder will eventually make it acidic.
Avoid  so any green drinks that contain  so apples, bananas, peaches, grapes, oranges or other more sugary fruits.

The whole peak of drinking a green drink that is to ingest alkaline fluids to proper neutralize acidity right  in your body.

Green powder  that mixed with a sugary fruit juice will so only give you an acidic drink and so increase the acidity in your body.

Many green drink manufacturers though will tell you to mix own  their powder with “8 to 12 ounces of the  water.”  I recommend the avoiding any green drinks so  that instruct  so you to mix the green powder with anything proper less than one liter of water.

The reason is so twofold:  First that  one of the most important aspects to properly alkalizing your body is proper hydration.  Eight to twelve ounces of water is that simply not enough water as most other people lose at least 2 liters of the water everyday just that through normal bodily functions.

Secondly so  it tells me that their green powder so is not concentrated better enough and is too weak to have any further significant effects on your body.  A good green powder that should be able to have so a good flavor and better consistency in a full liter of water.

Wind Powered Generators – Make Your Own Electricity

Making a home wind powered generator is really much easier, and cost effective, than many people think. Pretty much, anyone can do it. These machines are pretty uncomplicated and do not involve a lot of maintenance provided you build them properly. In addition, making your own power will be fun and super rewarding. But the most important reason for doing this is that you will save literally thousands of dollars on your energy bills.

Basically these generators are machines that switch wind energy to electric power. The only needed fuel is wind which is 100% free, natural and unlimited. Still, the original costs is often significant although the price range for small home systems currently has become really inexpensive. Another method of cutting your costs considerably is by making it yourself. But first you must check if your local wind resource is  appropriate and if there are any regulations near you that could possibly restrict their effectiveness. Chiefly the main concern is the elevation of the tower.

Wind powered generators for the most part are extremely uncomplicated. How windmills work is the air rotates the blades to engage a pump or some type of additional mechanized system. Wind turbines drive a spindle to operate an alternator or similar type of transformation interface to convert the mechanical energy into electric power. This electrical power is then wired directly for use, storage or both. The surplus energy can also be transferred back into the power grid for additional users.

The power that gets created from home wind generators has grown over 400% in the last several years. According to the latest research, roughly 20 million houses in the United States are based in areas that are perfect for wind power. The prospective sum of money that could be saved on utility bills is astounding.

Fortunately, wind energy systems are inexpensive for the typical family nowadays, thanks to diy kits that are available online. All the info you need can be downloaded directly. You could virtually start constructing and creating your own renewable energy within moments after buying a kit on the internet.
